Terms of Service
Draft — not yet in force
This is a working draft, pending review by a lawyer. It describes how Appeye actually operates today, but it is not yet a binding document and has no effective date.
Effective date: none yet — this draft takes effect only once it has been reviewed and published.
These terms cover your use of Appeye. We have tried to write them the way we write the rest of the site: in plain English, explaining what we do rather than defending ourselves in advance.
Some of what follows is binding on us, not on you — in particular what stays free, and what an AI report can and cannot be relied on for.
1.What Appeye is
Appeye is a research tool. It reads reviews published publicly on the Apple App Store and Google Play and turns them into sentiment, recurring themes, churn signals and competitive comparison.
Appeye is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Apple Inc. or Google LLC. "App Store" and "Google Play" are their trademarks and are used here only to say where the reviews came from.
Appeye is an independent analysis of public data. Nothing on the site is an official statement by a store, or by the company whose app is being analysed.
2.Accounts
- Give accurate details when you register, and keep your email address current.
- You are responsible for your credentials and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
- One account per person. Accounts are not to be shared, except through the seats included in a team subscription — those seats are for named individuals, not a shared login.
3.Free and paid — a commitment that binds us
The entire rule-based analysis is free, permanently. Not a trial, not a limited period, not a teaser: recommendations, churn signal, review themes, reviewer breakdown, reply behaviour and monthly sentiment history stay free.
The real boundary on Appeye is anonymous versus signed in, not free versus paid. Signing in is free.
Paid covers only three things:
- AI-written reports;
- tracking apps with alerts;
- exports, report sharing and team seats.
Treat this as a commitment we are bound by, not a marketing line. It is why the rule-based analysis was deliberately built without a language model: rule-based scoring costs us almost nothing to run, so we can afford to keep it free, and we do not want a pricing incentive to degrade it. What is free today stays free. The full list is on the free page.
4.AI reports and their limits
An AI report is generated by a language model reading real review text and the metrics we computed from it. Language models can be wrong. A report can misread context, overstate a pattern, miss one entirely, or state something confidently that is not true.
Reports are not financial, investment, legal or professional advice, and must not be the sole basis for a business decision. They are a decision input. Verify anything that matters against the underlying reviews, which we show you.
Every report records the model version, the prompt version, how many reviews were analysed and the date of the newest review in that set, so any report can be traced back to exactly what produced it.
Reports are generated asynchronously and can take a few minutes. If generation fails, the charge is refunded automatically — you do not have to ask.
5.Figures are point-in-time
Every figure on Appeye describes the catalogue as measured on a stated date. The catalogue grows, apps qualify and drop out, and new reviews arrive continuously, so figures change — sometimes materially.
For that reason we date published analysis rather than silently rewriting it. A blog post from three months ago reports what was true three months ago, and says so. Do not treat a dated figure as current.
6.Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk extraction or automated harvesting of Appeye.
- No resale or redistribution of the catalogue, or any substantial part of it, as a dataset.
- No reverse engineering of the service or the scoring methodology.
- No attempt to identify individual reviewers.
- No use of Appeye to harass a company or a person.
- Exports are for your own use and for reports you deliver to your clients — not for rebuilding the catalogue somewhere else.
We may suspend an account that breaches these limits.
7.Payment, renewal and refunds
- Prices are shown on the paid features page and at checkout, in the currency shown there. Any tax due is added at checkout and handled by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep access until then and we do not pro-rate a partial period.
- One-off report purchases are charged once, at purchase.
- Refunds: automatic and immediate where report generation fails. Otherwise, if a report or a subscription period is unusable because of a fault on our side, write to us at contact@appeye.ai and we will refund it. We do not refund a report that generated successfully but whose conclusions you disagree with — that is analysis, not a defect.
8.Intellectual property
Appeye owns the software, the Appeye Score methodology, the computed metrics and the editorial content on the site.
Review text belongs to the people who wrote it. We analyse and quote it; we do not claim it.
A report you buy is yours to use and to share inside your organisation and with your clients. It may not be resold or republished as a product of its own.
9.Availability
We do not offer an uptime guarantee at this stage, and we would rather say so than imply one. Appeye may be interrupted by planned maintenance or by faults.
Our data comes from third-party stores. They can change what they publish, rate-limit us, or stop providing something entirely, and that can reduce or delay coverage through no fault of ours.
10.Liability, termination, governing law and changes
Liability
Appeye sells research. Research is a decision input, not a decision. We are not liable for business decisions taken on the basis of our analysis, for lost profit, lost revenue or lost opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, such as for fraud.
Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will explain why unless we are prevented from doing so. On closure, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page shows which version is in force.
For legal notices or administrative correspondence about these terms, email info@appeye.ai.
Governing law
To do — ownerSet the governing law and the courts with jurisdiction, and insert the legal entity name and registered address, before these terms go into force. Left blank deliberately rather than guessed.
